Overview
Old Macs are usually worth saving. We make them fast again.
An iMac or MacBook that takes five minutes to boot is almost never dead, it is a spinning hard drive and a full disk. An SSD swap, a memory bump, and a clean install turn a machine headed for the closet into one that runs for years. We have done this long enough to know which models are worth it and which are not, and we will tell you straight.
Data comes first. Everything gets backed up before a screwdriver comes out, and recovery from a failing drive is part of the job, not an upsell. Labor is $125 an hour, one-hour minimum; parts are quoted before ordering.
FAQ
common questions.
- 01Is my old iMac worth upgrading?
- Often yes. A spinning hard drive swapped for an SSD and a clean install makes most 2012 to 2019 iMacs feel new. We tell you honestly when a model is past the point of being worth it.
- 02Will I lose my data?
- No. Everything is backed up before any work starts, and recovering files from a failing drive is part of the job.
- 03What does a Mac SSD upgrade cost?
- Labor is $125 an hour, one-hour minimum, usually one to two hours plus the drive. Parts are quoted before ordering.
